When it Comes to Chemical Safety, be Proactive NOT Reactive!
ChlorTainer is THE proactive solution for preventing chemical releases.
If your organization uses large amounts of gas or liquid chemicals, you know that they must be stored and handled with utmost care.
ChlorTainer is a high-pressure containment vessel into which a 1-ton or a 150-lb cylinder is processed.
If the cylinder should leak, the gas or liquid is contained within the sealed vessel and processed at a normal rate.

ChlorTainer Testimonials
"Total Containment is easier [to use] than a scrubber. It does what is says it will do and we don't have to worry about leaks."
Wayne Fujiwara - Plant Operator
Maui Water Treatment PlantLaurin describes the ChlorTainer approach of containment as “unique.” And, because ChlorTainer feeds the leaked chlorine back into the delivery system for disinfection, he calls its operation a “seamless part of the delivery system.”
Eric Laurin - Associate/Director
Coe & Van Loo Consultants Inc. (CVL) in Phoenix, Arizona"Safety for our operators and the surrounding area [was the primary concern]. The locking door adds extra security from prying hands. It seems to be a fool-proof system. Simplicity is the best ticket."
Rick Roll
North Little Rock, Arkansas Water Treatment Plant"I would have no problems recommending ChlorTainer to anyone looking for a secondary containment system. The best secondary containment there is, is the one you never have to use."
Allen Jones
Springfield, OH Water Treatment Plant"The containers are very well built and I am confident in their ability to contain a leak. As for maintenance, such as annual checks of valve seals and gas levels, the need as extremely low.”
Ben Yoder - General Contractor
Moltz Constructors, Navajo-Gallup Water Supply Project"We don’t have the very significant operations and maintenance (O&M) burden there that we have for the scrubber system in the plant. The risk management plan (RMP) says we have to either treat any gas leaks or contain them, and the containment option, which requires very little attention, allows us to avoid time and availability from the 2 full-time plant operators to regularly maintain another scrubber system, to help assure it will work if needed."
Staff Representative
The Erie County (NY) Water Authority"With scrubbers costing a fortune as a means for containing any leaks, we went with gas cylinder containment vessels, and their associated equipment, as a preferred alternative. We’ve been pleased with the results for over 10 years now."
Chief Operator
City of Morgan, LA Water Treatment Plant"Cost was a guideline and safety was our primary concern. 'Passive' was a selling point to me. It made a very important difference since we are governed by the EPA rules and regulations. The ChlorTainer has a preventative maintenance schedule which requires no special training or skills to complete."
Ellis DeWell - Assistant Plant Superintendent
Springfield, Ohio Water Treatment Plant"The required maintenance on the ChlorTainer vessels is almost nothing."
Ed Main - Remote Systems Technician
The City of Olympia, Washington"It is always preferable to avoid any Hazmat occupancy because OSHA requires a six-man, trained response team to respond to any release of toxic gas. Since many facilities do not have a six-member team available to address a release. Hazmat occupancy environments are not practical. Total containment is the safest and most cost effective treatment system available."
George Clifford White - Consulting Engineer
Author of the "Handbook of Chlorination and Alternative Disinfections", Fourth EditionOf the benefits ChlorTainers provide, Water Operator Jeremiah Kirchhofer says, “One of the biggest things is the reduced risk radius.”
Jeremiah Kirchhofer - Water Operator
Pyramid Water Treatment Plant in Unalaska, Alaska"This technology single-handedly saves the chlorine gas industry, allowing us [at the water treatment site] to continue to use chlorine gas without having to convert to bleach as a disinfectant alternative."
Scott Rovenpera - Plant Superintendent
Benicia, California Water Treatment Plant"ChlorTainer is a big money saver, especially compared to scrubber solutions. It meets the fire code and exceeds all other standards. And the dual vessel makes auto switchover of a new container practical. In fact, it virtually takes care of itself."
Lou Mendes
Cement Hill Water Treatment Plant, CA"ChlorTainer was much preferred to a scrubber-type solution, which would require major building modifications. A scrubber system would also have required a six-member, trained response team to be available to deal with a leak within the building. With the vessels, it is all done automatically, with minimal personal exposure. And with two tanks for each gas, we don't have to suffer any plant process interruption if there is leak containment going on in one of them."
Wayne Lee - Superintendent Sludge Wastewater Treatment Plant
City of Slidell, Louisiana"It’s pretty much worry-free. We haven’t had any cylinders leak into the containment vessel yet, but it’s still good to have the added safety, with chlorine storage located near population centers. And whenever we’ve needed to make a phone call in the last four years for service or spare parts, the manufacturer has jumped to it real quick.”
Veteran Potable Water Production and Treatment Superintendent
"It’s pretty robust. If it lasted a hundred years, it wouldn’t shock me."
Paul Mariscal - Water Production Operations Supervisor
City of Redlands, CAOttawa has had its two One-Ton ChlorTainer vessels since 2004. Thirteen years down the road, Snethen says of the company, “They’ve kept up on their existing customers, not just their new customers.”
Scott Snethen - Superintendent
The Water Plant in Ottawa, Kansas
